Volunteer, Be A Big Brother or a Big Sister!
I am so busy with teaching 300 teenagers a day, graduate school at night, exercise, time with friends and family, church, but I still find time to volunteer, I always have my entire life!
To me, the most valuable part about volunteering is that it helps me get my mind off of myself and allows me to think of the needs of others, thus making me a more giving and less selfish person. Most of the time, people never see all the things that I give or volunteer for, but I know. Knowing that you make a difference in this world is empowering and it gives meaning and purpose to your life.
If you have not turned in your application to be a Big, please reconsider and turn it in! The Team Leader for BISS of Broward County is Ofelia DeLuca. She will be returning to my classroom next Tuesday, April 28th at 2:30 to give another presentation on what it means to be a Big. Please plan on attending so that you can learn how you can make a difference in the life of a young child. Love you guys, Ms. B.
